OK - SO YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR YOUR DRIVING TEST!

Like anything in live success in your driving test is all about being prepared. Having taken a course of lessons with a Motivator driving instructor you will have made great progress in getting ready for your test. However important good driving skills you can still slip up if you are not full prepared. So here are some pointers on the little things some people forget;

  1. Book your driving test when your instructor advises. This ensures their car is available.
    Also your instructor is the best person to judge how ready for the test you are.
  2. Get eyesite test. Don't leave it untill the day to find out you need glasses, it's a very expensive way to find out you need them!.
  3. Practice makes perfect. As an advaced learner this is the best time to get out with a relative or friend.
  4. Continue to have regular lessons up to your test. Especially if you are practicing without an instructor. You may be picking up bad habits that could catch you out on the day.
  5. Make sure you are familiar with the show and tell questions. They are quite easy but can catch you out if you are unfamiliar with what the examinar may ask.
  6. Get a good nights sleep. Have a proper breakfast and make sure you are well hydrated. All of this will aid your concentration on the day.
  7. Make sure you have all your paperwork to order.
    • You need to take both parts of your licence
    • Proof of your theory test pass
    • Test booking confirmation.
  8. If you are inclined to get nervous learn and practice some breathing techniques. Controled breathing lowers your pulse and helps you relax.
  9. If you have any special requirments make sure you advise the DSA on booking your test.
  10. Finally go to the loo before you start your test. It sounds silly but getting caught short is dreadful for concentration!
